Rick Sillett – CEO
Rick is an experienced marketer and fundraiser with a successful track record of initiating business growth in diverse service industries. Since 1983, Rick has held senior and executive management positions in marketing, product development, business development and market research.
After a successful career in the financial services sector, Rick was appointed Fundraising Manager for the Royal Victorian Institute for the Blind (now Vision Australia) and later, Fundraising Manager for Scope Victoria (formerly the Spastic Society). In these roles, Rick led the fundraising activities including direct marketing, donor and bequest development, trust income and special events – most notably, RVIB’s Carols by Candlelight.
In 2005, Rick launched Let’s Talk Marketing with the goal of assisting charities to build their donor support base via direct marketing. Let’s Talk Marketing continues to specialise in the not-for-profit sector and has been privileged to work with many great charitable organisations.
In 2013, Let’s Talk Marketing purchased telemarketing company, Communication Direct. Communication Direct is well known in Victoria in the charitable sector and has been conducting raffles for charities for almost 20 years.
Rick holds a Bachelor of Business in Marketing and has lectured in fundraising principles and direct marketing to students of RMIT and Monash University at Masters and undergraduate levels. Rick is a past Vice-President and Treasurer of the Victorian Chapter of the Fundraising Institute-Australia and has won many awards from the Institute including the National Award for FIA’s Most Outstanding Fundraising Project in Australia in 2003.
Geoff is a highly experienced account executive who has been primarily working in the IT industry for IBM Australia, managing large client projects and programs of work across various industry sectors.
Geoff holds the position of General Manager of Let’s Talk Marketing and our telemarketing business, Communication Direct.
Most recently, Geoff managed a program of work to develop and implement a core application for the National Broadband Network (NBN) that will form the cornerstone to support the role out of the NBN to households across Australia.
Prior to the NBN role and since 1997, Geoff has held senior management positions on a number of IBM accounts including RACV, BHP Billiton, AGL and Telstra. These roles involved managing the IT projects together with client senior management and other stakeholder groups to achieve the desired outcome for all concerned.
Geoff brings a wealth of business knowledge and experience to our company which not only ensures our internal processes are well managed but also adds value to our existing clients and consultancy advice to prospective clients.
Lynn Sillett – Chief Financial Officer
Lynn is the Chief Financial Officer and has many years of finance and accounting experience. Lynn is also responsible for the vast array of human resources needs of our business.
Lynn has held finance and accounting positions with national and multinational companies including Data100 (now Nortel Networks), Ogilvy & Mather, Daca Software and Sportgrass P/L.
Lynn ensures our compliance with financial, human resources and other legislative requirement whilst making sure our financial wheels keep turning.
Lucy joined Communication Direct in 2001. Previously she was employed as Customer Service and Accounts Manager at Ogilvy & Mather.
Lucy is a musician and has studied widely from Science and Computer Science at University of Tasmania to Speech & Drama at Trinity College, London.
Lucy is the heart and soul of Communication Direct with her finger on every pulse.
Lauren joined the Communication Direct team in 2014. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Journalism) degree from Monash University and previously worked at iSentia (formerly Media Monitors) where she assisted clients with their media monitoring services.
She brings her experience in Account Management to the role, and ensures all clients’ raffle and donor programs are run to the highest degree. Lauren is also the point of call should our clients have any queries regarding their services with Communication Direct.
Lauren is a committee member for the Borneo Orangutan Survival Australia, acting as their Secretary. She also assists with spreading the word on what BOS Australia do through their social media channels.
Joining us in 2017, Michelle is the most recent member to the team at Communication Direct. Michelle has been working in data management in both the corporate and non-profit sectors for over 10 years. The key focus of her experience has been on the design and development of improved database processes from a business user perspective.
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Science (Aquatic) from Deakin University and prior to joining Communication Direct she worked at Make-A-Wish Australia, ensuring database integrity and quality data procedures necessary to support fundraising activities
She is very excited about bringing her experience to her role with Communication Direct and working together with the team to meet the organisation’s growing data-driven needs.
